Effective date: October 15, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Plantling iOS application and related pages (“Service”). By using Plantling, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms are intended to explain the rules for using Plantling. They do not take away rights that apply to you under consumer protection or other laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
Agreement
Plantling is currently provided by its app developer. If you download Plantling through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies unless a custom agreement is provided for the app. These Terms govern your use of Plantling features, subject to applicable law and Apple’s terms.
The service
Plantling provides tools for organizing plant information, setting care reminders, keeping plant photos and histories, and receiving AI-assisted plant identification, diagnosis, and chat responses. Features may change over time. Some features require an internet connection, device permissions, or third-party services.
Plantling Pro subscriptions
Plantling Pro offers unlimited plant identification, health checks and AI chats while your subscription is active, subject to the acceptable-use rules below. Monthly and annual auto-renewable plans are available. The purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation show the price, billing period, currency and any applicable offer before you confirm. Free access currently includes one identification, one diagnosis and five chat questions per anonymous Plantling account, rather than a daily or monthly allowance. Deleting an individual scan or conversation does not restore a used allowance.
Apple processes payment through your Apple account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal deadline shown by Apple. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account; you can open Manage Apple subscriptions. Cancellation generally stops the next renewal while access continues for the paid period, subject to Apple’s terms and any refund or other adjustment. Refund requests are handled through Apple, subject to applicable law.
Use Restore Purchases on the purchase screen to restore an eligible active subscription using the Apple account that made the purchase. Restoring a purchase does not restore deleted plants, photos, chats or a deleted anonymous Plantling account. RevenueCat helps validate purchase status and provide access. Uninstalling Plantling, withdrawing AI permission or deleting your Plantling account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Your app account
Plantling currently creates an anonymous app account to associate cloud records with your installation. You are responsible for maintaining access to the device and installation where your app data is stored. The current anonymous account is not a password-based account and does not provide account recovery or automatic transfer of your data to another installation. Keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
You may use iOS controls to allow or deny camera, photo library, and notification access. Some features will not work unless you grant the relevant permission. You can change notification permissions later in iOS Settings.
Plant care guidance
Plantling’s identification, diagnosis, and care suggestions are informational starting points, not a guarantee of plant identity, plant health, or a successful outcome. AI-generated responses may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable for your plant’s conditions. Check important guidance against reliable sources and your own observations. Do not rely on Plantling for emergency, safety-critical, veterinary, or other professional advice.
Your content
You retain rights to the plant names, notes, photos, and messages you submit. You give Plantling permission to host, process, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate the features you choose, including cloud storage and AI processing. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit content, and for avoiding personal or sensitive information in content you do not want processed by service providers. See our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Use Plantling lawfully and do not interfere with the Service, attempt unauthorized access, misuse another person’s information, or upload content that infringes rights or is unlawful. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others.
Availability and deletion
We work to keep Plantling available, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service, including to maintain security, respond to provider changes, or improve the app.
You can stop using the app at any time. Settings → Delete account and data deletes your anonymous Plantling account, associated cloud records and photos, and supported local app data, and requests RevenueCat customer erasure. This does not cancel your Apple subscription or immediately erase provider logs, backups, or legally retained records. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account to stop future billing. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party services
Some features depend on services operated by others, including cloud hosting, AI processing, Apple, and network providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms, may become unavailable, and are not controlled by Plantling.
Plantling materials
The Plantling app, brand, design, and original materials are owned by or licensed to Plantling and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial plant-care purposes, subject to these Terms and Apple’s applicable license terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits it.
If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them to improve Plantling without payment or obligation to you. This does not transfer ownership of your photos, notes, or messages.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Plantling is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement where the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or warranty that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Plantling and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, plants, or profits arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Where liability can be limited, our total liability for claims related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the updated version and effective date here. Where required, we will provide additional notice. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the Service. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
You may stop using Plantling at any time. We may suspend access if we reasonably believe your use creates a security risk, violates these Terms, or creates legal exposure. Any provisions that by their nature should continue after use ends will remain effective, including provisions about content processing already performed, disclaimers, and liability limits, to the extent allowed by law.
